The hc3v4_meteo_persistence_forecast.php automatic access provides time series of HelioClim-3 version 4 data for today together with meteorogical variables from GFS (NCEP). It provides HelioClim-3 version 4 radiation values updated in real time, and forecasts until the end of the current day using a model of persistence. In brief, as soon as a new Meteosat image is available every 15 min, the HelioClim-3 database is updated in real time. To receive a time series covering the whole current day, we decided to complete the time series by applying a persistence model.

Command

On Windows, first download wget.exe executable in your working directory. In the same directory, create a text file in which you copy-paste the following command. Then rename the .txt file with the .bat extension. Double click on the .bat file to retrieve the output.csv file.

Inputs:

  • your_login and your_password: this access is restricted to registered users, i.e. to users who purchased an automatic access to the data. Please contact us for a quotation or to receive your SoDa automatic access credentials 
  • Server: "www.soda-is.com" (main server) or "pro.soda-is.com" (mirror server)
  • latitude and longitude: in degrees, with at least 3 digits after comma, e.g. "geopoint=45.563,7.25"
  • altitude: in meters. Set "elevation=-999" to let SoDa get the elevation from Nasa SRTM database
  • yyyy-mm-dd: first day and last day MUST BE SET TO TODAY
  • time_step: "1", "5", "10", "15" (minutes), "h" (hourly)
  • time_reference: "TU" (universal time) or "TST" (True Solar Time)
  • tilt_of_panels: from "0" (horizontal) to "90", or "-999" for sun tracking. For more information on plane orientations, please refer to http://www.soda-pro.com/help/general/plane-orientations-and-radiation-components
  • az_of_panels: from "0" (North), 90° (East), 180° (South) to 270° (West), or "-999" for sun tracking. For more information on plane orientations, please refer to http://www.soda-pro.com/help/general/plane-orientations-and-radiation-components
  • ground_albedo: from "0.0" to "1.0". A usual inland value is "0.2". Optional, if not set, default value is "0.2".
  • boolean_horizon: takes into account "1" or not "0" the far horizon. Optional, if not set, default value is "0".

Outputs:

  Horizontal plane (tilt =0)

  1. Date: format "yyyy-mm-dd"
  2. Time: format "HH:MM"
  3. Global Horizontal irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
  4. Clear-Sky: Irradiation over the period if the sky were clear in Wh/m²
  5. Top of Atmosphere: Irradiation over the period at the top of the atmosphere (extraterrestrial) in Wh/m²
  6. The reliability column has several forms depending of the time step:
    1. Code: 0: no data, 1: sun below horizon, 2: satellite assessment, 5: interpolation in time, 6: forecast
    2. Nb slots (%): ratio of the number of valid slots and the number of slots during the daylength in percent
    3. Nb valid days: number of valid days in the period
  7. Temperature: Temperature at 2 m above ground in Kelvins
  8. Relative Humidity: Relative humidity at 2 m above ground in %
  9. Pressure: Pressure at ground level in hPa
  10. Wind speed: Wind speed at 10 m above ground in m/s
  11. Wind direction: Wind direction at 10 m above ground (0 means from North, 90 from East...) in degrees
  12. Rainfall: Rainfall in kg/m2 (= rain depth in mm)
  13. Snowfall: in kg/m2
  14. Snow depth: in m

  Tilt different from 0 (fix-tilted or trackers)

  1. Date: format "yyyy-mm-dd"
  2. Time: format "HH:MM"
  3. Direct Inclined: irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
  4. Diffuse Inclined irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
  5. Reflected inclined irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
  6. Global Inclined irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
  7. Direct Horizontal irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
  8. Diffuse Horizontal irradiation over the period in Wh/m² (-999 if no data)
